Ruminant and Swine Division
Ruminants and Swine Division
The Ruminants and Swine Division has a clinic that treats ruminants (goats, sheep, camelids) 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The activities of the Ruminants and Pigs division are divided into two sectors: activities related to the management of pig health, and those related to the management of cattle health.
Pig health management includes the management of an educational Piétrain pig farm and visits to pig farms.
Ruminant health management includes a fully equipped clinic with hospital stalls, a laboratory, and operating rooms, as well as farm visits in various areas (neonatology, respiratory disorders, reproduction, nutrition, etc.).
Each of these sectors has its own infrastructure and serves as a basis for teaching faculty students about livestock medicine.
These areas of expertise are coupled with clinical and epidemiological research associated with each facet of our activities (individual cases/herds). In each of the department's different areas of expertise, you will find its managers, specific areas of research, and the courses taught.
