Endoscopy (or fibroscopy) is a medical examination that allows us to explore the inside of an organ (ear canal, esophagus, stomach, intestine, colon, nasal cavities, trachea, bronchi, lungs, vagina, urethra, bladder) by inserting an endoscope - a small camera at the end of a rigid or flexible tube.

endoscopes

The role of endoscopy is essentially diagnostic (to observe lesions and take targeted samples), but it can also be therapeutic (removal of foreign bodies, stent placement, etc.).

This examination requires general anesthesia, so the animal must be fasted for at least 12 hours prior to the examination.
