Urodynamic examinations consist of urethral profilometry and cystometry, and are designed to measure the pressures in the urethra and bladder to check that they are contracting correctly, and thus determine the precise cause of your pet's urinary incontinence. Pressures are measured using a special urinary catheter connected to pressure sensors. This examination must be carried out on a lightly anesthetized animal, to avoid movements that would prevent correct pressure measurement. The test is therefore painless for your pet.
