The teaching of veterinary general surgery is an essential component of the training of future veterinarians. This discipline encompasses a wide range of simple surgical procedures in the fields of oncological surgery, soft tissue and orthopedics and. The aim of this course is to provide students with the theoretical knowledge, practical skills and clinical experience needed to become competent general veterinarians.

Practical work plays a major role in the teaching of veterinary surgery. Students have the opportunity to put their theoretical knowledge into practice on anatomical models and surgical simulators (Skill Lab). These exercises prepare students to develop technical skills such as suturing, asepsis and handling surgical instruments.

Clinical internships play a central role in veterinary general surgery training. Under the supervision of experienced veterinarians, students observe and participate in real surgical procedures, exposing them to a variety of cases and clinical situations.
