Sensitive animals

Well-being can be defined as a dynamic balance between the individual and the environment. Veterinary Behavioural Medicine is a discipline that deals with the physical and mental health of animals. As animals are "sentient beings", they can suffer not only physically but also mentally. It is therefore necessary to ensure their well-being by providing comprehensive care

Pets have become man's intimate companions. They share his daily life and are often the object of growing attention, or even the receptacle of his frustrations (animal-nature, animal-child, animal-friend, animal-object, etc.). This highly invested cohabitation, often accompanied by a lack of knowledge of the animal's real needs, inevitably leads to imbalances, which manifest themselves in problematic behaviour. Normal but undesirable, sometimes downright pathological, these behaviours are a reflection of the animal's physical and mental health. They must therefore benefit from comprehensive medical care that takes into account the well-being of the animal and its human companions.

If the behaviour of a pet poses a problem for you or seems abnormal, you should know that veterinary medicine can help it, but also help you, to find together individualised and adapted solutions that will enable you to find an acceptable balance. This assessment is proposed to you via a complete interview and a detailed observation of the behaviour, requiring a minimum consultation of 1h30. If necessary, an analysis of the dangerousness of the problematic situation will also be carried out.

Appointments can be made directly by telephone with Prof. Marc Vandenheede (04/366.41.48).
